August 12, 2013:  A Great Team

This week flew by so quickly that I need to update you before I forget all the details. On Monday, we had a fantastic team come together to add some color to the garden. We worked so well together, and I especially connected with Evie, one of the team members. I pray that we can collaborate on more projects like this in the future. Here are some pictures from this week—thank you all for making it possible. This young group left their mark, representing the word of God.

Praise the Lord, rain came on Tuesday at the Robin’s Nest! It was a happy day because everything had been so dry. By Wednesday, I was able to thin out some of the beds and add mulch.

It’s incredible—I’ve been through the coldest winters in North Carolina without getting a cold, but here in Jamaica, where it’s hot, I’ve had three colds in two months! It’s so crazy. Today, I guess my body just wanted to sleep all day. LOL.

One thing I learned this week is that if God has given you something to do, and you allow distractions to set in, confusion will follow, and it may cost you unnecessary expenses. When it comes to doing God’s work, it’s okay to say no to friends and others around you. They can’t give you the blessings God has for you unless God uses them as a vessel. They can’t open the doors God wants you to enter. If you move off your path, you may miss the blessings God has for you.

On Friday, I realized I had been distracted when confusion set in. I forgot my ID and had to turn back in the taxi, which ended up costing me more. I had to cry out to God for forgiveness. Each day, this new walk is amazing.

Please keep praying for my journey and for the finances to keep it going. I remembered something from church on Sunday. A guest speaker asked me what I wanted from God, and I said more finances. His answer was simple: “Just glorify Him—that’s all God expects from you.” Thank you, God, for bringing that to my remembrance.

JUST GLORIFY HIS HOLY NAME.
