April-May 2018
It’s been four weeks since returning to Jamaica. After distributing the donated items to various places, I found myself wondering, “What’s next, Lord?” The Lord’s response was a profound feeling of stillness within me, a quiet I can’t even fully explain. I call these experiences supernatural encounters.
When I came to Jamaica, my sole focus was on fulfilling the purpose God sent me here for. I didn’t visit family, which seemed odd because I didn’t want to get distracted. I stayed focused, seeking to hear what God needed me to do. I did talk to my sister and brothers occasionally, but I avoided meeting even friends who were a blessing to me during my first journey in Jamaica. Not everyone understood this, including me, but I remained quiet because that’s where I was at the time.
After donating the items, God began to deal with me. It became clear that I needed to consecrate myself, deciding between maintaining old friendships and pursuing the new purpose God was calling me to. This was difficult, especially since we had big plans to do business together, and my new direction caused confusion and misunderstanding. During prayer and fasting, the Lord led me to a scripture that emphasized letting go of the past so He could do a new thing in my life: “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” (Joshua 3:5).
Letting go was hard, especially when old friends no longer felt like a fit. It was challenging to engage with people who still saw me as my past self when God was doing something new in my life. I prayed for guidance on how to let go. During this process, the Lord reminded me of an audiobook called *The Dream Giver* by Bruce Wilkinson. It spoke directly to my situation, explaining that you have to leave familiar places and friends to pursue your journey. However, there will be giants like family, friends, fear, finance, and rejection trying to block your path.
After deciding to move forward, I began experiencing new encounters with like-minded people. I met an incredible exercise group that meets every morning at 5 AM, dedicated to keeping their bodies fit. Working out with them up and down hills was a phenomenal experience.
Another Supernatural Encounter
I was praying to meet someone interested in urban gardening. About 30 minutes later, I saw two young ladies visiting from Canada. They were in Jamaica to start a sustainable living program and wanted to teach others. We exchanged business ideas and goals, and now Michelle and her mom are connected with me. Look at God working things out for His good.
Another Supernatural Encounter
One Sunday, after praying and fasting, I went to a church in town. After the service, I wondered who I should give the remaining clothes to. I saw a young pregnant girl and asked if she had baby clothes. She didn’t, and she was staying at a group home for pregnant girls. We exchanged information, and a week later, I connected with her.
In a dream, I heard, “Go underneath the stairs.” Upon waking, I checked underneath the stairs where I kept the baby’s clothes. About 10 minutes later, the director of the group home called. As we talked, she mentioned that the entrance to their home was underneath the stairs, matching my dream. We met the next day, and I felt a deep connection with the group home and the director. I’m still waiting to see what God has in store for this connection.
Supernatural Encounter
This was a spiritual encounter for me. Apostle Guillermo Maldonado’s event was incredible. I witnessed God move through worship and praise. People started moving their arms, walking from wheelchairs, and a blind man began to see. It was a phenomenal experience.
Trust in God’s plan, even when it leads you into the unknown. He has a purpose and will guide you through supernatural encounters. Share this journey with a friend and encourage them to seek God’s direction in their lives.
